And a story from my friend Ms. W–who does not have a blog, but who gave me her cheerful permission to peddle this story about her child on mine:
My friend overheard her son O, aged 4, say, “And this car is Barack Obama.” Her curiosity piqued, she looked around the corner to where he was playing with his cars.
“O? Why is that car Barack Obama?
“Because it’s a presidential race!”

Yesterday, Kimberly at The Gav Menagerie and I happened to write about the same thing on the same day. She hears her own daughter’s feet padding down the hall toward her room in the middle of the night to take up a spot in their bed. Her dreams of a king-sized bed take on a whole new shape by the end of her post. I love what she wrote (as I always do), so take a moment to read this: Seeking a comfortable closeness.

My 13 year old daughter was hanging out with friends when they abruptly left. The boys had started spouting some Barack Obama is a terrorist nonsense and she was done. That’s my girl!
